I believe TAAG had considered Dubai some time ago but it all went quiet and now its starting tomorrow.Currently only Hainan Airlines flies the route once a week PEK-DXB-LAD-DXB-PEK.I find it very strange why some airlines just announce routes with hardly any notice.

Great news for TAAG but I can't help but wonder If the EU ban gets lifted and DT can fly their own aircraft to LIS and CDG again, what will happen to their new routes such as DXB and PEK. As far as I know, they don't have enough 777's to fly them to LIS, CDG, DXB, PEK, and JNB.

Didn't TAAG called off flight to PEK? IMO it's a sensible move, they should instead add more flights to DXB (later JXB) where most can connect to the rest of Asia, Oceania, and Middle East. Dubai may later become a real hub/magnet where smaller/regional airlines serve to help connect to other continents that would seem expensive and logistically impossible(ie: Africa to Asia/Oceania, Asia to Africa/ME, South Asia to Africa, etc).

I agree that the route comes with plenty of doubts. TAAG also had plans to start PEK flights which had been dropped. I have serious doubts about the possible success of TAAG in DXB.

I had read that Hainan axed its PEK-DXB-LAD route 3 or 4 weeks ago without giving any reason. They operated the weekly flight with a 767. Trying to be a bit up to date about those Angola-China routes is a stunt in fact as TAAG and HU barely communicate...
Now can someone tell me whether euro Atlantic is still involved in any kind of operational deal with DT regarding the 777 fleet ??

They've had a brand new 777 moth-balled at BFI for nearly 6 months now. Such a waste of money - they'd have been far better leasing it out and making some cash.
